MEET OUR INSTRUCTORS:
DUFFY HOFFMAN

Duffy Hoffman is a third-generation craftsman of the historic trades devoted to the restoration business. With over thirty years of experience as a preservationist, Duffy combines historic techniques with new materials to extend the life of historic structures. Duffy's restoration and window sash business, Hoffman Preservation and Restoration, Inc., has three locations across the United States: Chicago, IL, Louisville, KY, and Harrisburg, PA. Duffy's notable restoration projects include the First Pennsylvania Governor's Mansion, PA, the First Church of Christ, PA, Hill House Museum, WV, and all the historic structures in Washington Crossing Historic Park, PA.

Duffy is a 2013 recipient of the Askins Achievement Award, named after the founder of the National Parks Service Historic Preservation Training Center and dedicated to recognizing significant contributions to practicing and continuing the preservation trades. He recently contributed to the Traditional Building Window Conference at the Chicago Museum of History as a key speaker, and has taught for Traditional Building magazine, Preservation Trades Network, and the Old House Journal's Historic Home Shows, as well as numerous workshops across the country. He is currently creating a training center and field school for the Traditional Trades in Chicago called the Hoffman Artisan Trades Training Center.
